Many of the sports events in Skead consisted of school competitions and tournaments.  However, the Skead Recreation Committee was instrumental in ensuring that the citizens of the community remained healthy and active even after their school days were over.

By developing playgrounds and a skating rink, the Skead Recreation Committee helped to encourage residents to enjoy healthy lifestyles and to take part in social activities.
