A Tough Journey for Sudbury Football

The history of football has been a rocky one for Northern Ontario but eventually, the game did catch on and has become a favourite for many.  The Sudbury Spartans have won many Northern Football Conference titles over the years and the N.F.C. itself has seen many changes, including switching the football season from fall to summer, enabling not only high school students to play on the team but also football players from Canadian universities.

Many former Spartans have gone on to outstanding careers in Canadian collegiate football as well as NFL and CFL glory, but it is the fundamental love of the game by both players and fans that keeps this sport alive and thriving in the Greater Sudbury community.
