Chester and Esther Judd

Chester Roy Judd.  Photo courtesy of the Northern Ontario Railroad Museum and Heritage Centre.Chester Roy Judd was born on August 28, 1896 in London Township, Middlesex County in Ontario. He married Esther "Ettie" Mossop on July 9, 1927.

Both Chester and Ettie attended the London Collegiate and London Normal School. Before his arrival in Capreol, Judd attended the Palmer School of Chiropractic, making him a qualified chiropractor. In 1926, Judd accepted the position of principal for Capreol Public School. He served as both principal and chiropractor to the community for many years.

Judd retired in 1964 and the following year, the family moved to Thamesford. Chester Judd died on February 26, 1969, leaving behind his wife and a son, Donald Leslie Judd.

C.R. Judd Public School was so-named in honour of Mr. Judd's contributions to the community.
